C# Software Developer Vacancy (onsite)

 

An exciting opportunity to join a SaaS Product Development Team in Worcester, Worcestershire, UK

Our Worcester-based Product Development Team is looking for talented, creative, team players to join them!  You must be an excellent communicator, have commercial experience in an Agile team, and be experienced in C# development with SQL Server and .net Core.  You will already have experience in Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Spring Planning and meeting with Clients on Teams and in person too.

Saas Product

The Connect product is a SaaS solution and is used by 100s of Clients in the UK and South Africa to manage mobile workforces.  Our Clients range from Retail giants to Housing Associations keeping their properties in tip-top conditions for their tenants, to telephone installation companies, and Air Conditioning installation and service teams keeping buildings cool and safe.  Clients create and track Jobs and utilise the Asset Management Features in the product.

 

 

As well as the Connect product, the team also supports other customers such as the Farnborough International Airshow, an Asset Tracking Product and several other ‘custom projects’ for niche Clients.  Our sister company CYBX Ltd is based in the same office, so there are crossover opportunities to learn from and work on Cyber Security related projects for UK and International Clients, as well as receiving first-hand feedback on how to code more defensively.

Ways of Working (WOW!)

We are a mainly in the office team and have enabled our team members to work from home for one day per week since 2017.  Team working and excellent communications is essential to maintaining the quality of our product and the excellent Client service that we provide to our Clients, hence why we are mainly office based.  Therefore, we are looking for sociable team members who want to be around, learn from, and mentor and support other team members.

 

 

The team uses the Scrum methodology and runs 4-week long Sprints.  Daily Stand Ups are every morning for a maximum of 15 minutes.  All Sprints and Work Items are managed in Azure DevOps.  The company is fully paperless and has a ‘digital first, cloud first’ culture for its own business systems as well as for its Clients.

Technical Skills

Essential

  • At least 3 years of commercial C# experience
  • Net Core – API, Blazor, Entity Framework Core
  • Unit Testing – NUnit

Desirable

  • .Net MAUI – Android and iOS
  • Azure DevOps Build and Release Pipelines including YAML configuration
  • Azure hosting – App Service, SQL, Blob Storage, AD B2C
  • Foundational network and hosting knowledge – DNS, SSL Certificates

Soft Skills

Essential

  • A team worker, with proven experience working in 2 or 4 week sprints, leading and/or attending Daily Stand Ups, Spring Planning and other ceremonies with Clients and peers
  • Communication and documentation skills – must be an open and honest team player, prepared to provide opinions to peers and prepared to take onboard suggestions to improve personal behaviours and technical skills
  • Problem solver – Able to assess a problem or situation and work through challenges independently and democratically and diplomatically with peers
  • Understanding and interpreting business challenges to create technical requirements and confident meeting with Clients to elicit and document requirements
  • Implement solutions using best practices by following fundamental software principles and reading appropriate documentation

Desirable

  • Willing and able to learn new skills quickly and enjoy the challenge of overcoming issues to achieve business goals
  • Happy to take Tasks off the Managing Director, be these updating the website, improving the Help Desk service, improving the business systems that are used (e.g. integration with Xero, Harvest, SharePoint)
  • Keen to attend exhibitions and events to promote the product to new Clients and to keep abreast of competitors and market and technology trends
  • Able to product Client training material such as User Guides, short ‘how to’ videos and aide memoirs
